Great job on the face.
The coloring needs a bit of defining. He could use some definite hard shadows, solids. When you look at an object casting a shadow on another object, the close it is the harder and more solid the shadow becomes, it doesnt tend to "blend" as much.
Some of the grooves and inner parts of the blades "where it shows the thickness" could be a solid darker color.
Some solid light around the grooves would make them seem more apparent, make them deeper. If you look at some gundam wing art, the mechs tend to have a good mix of solids and fades, each line in the metal is all or partially lines to make it pop out.
I hope this helps, I wish I could be more literate.
